In the first international High-tech Collaborative Innovation Summit forum in 2020, Reexen Technology was awarded the top ten potential high-tech projects of the year.

Acceleration program

Participated in the second acceleration program of MiraclePlus founded by former Baidu VICE President Qi Lu and graduated on November 27, 2020.

Dr. Qi Lu is the founder and CEO of MiraclePlus ( The original YC China). He has a PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. He has served as President and CHIEF Operating Officer of Baidu Group, Executive Vice President of Microsoft Worldwide and Executive Vice President of Yahoo.

Our project, “Ultra-low cost & ultra-high efficiency AI processor for enabling fast and cost-effective deployment of edge-computing applications–Reexen”, participated in the competition of Enhaced EIC Accelerator Pilot, and has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 889805.

We are also involved in other two EU projects:

1. IMOCO4.E Intelligent Motion Control under Industry4.E

2. StorAlge:embedded storage elements on next MCU generation ready for AI on the edge

This two projects, which we applied for with the other partners of European Union, are large projects with a total award of about 20 million euros each. These two projects are divided into two Phases. So far we have passed phase I in June 2020 and have submitted the proposal for phase II this September. We are confident to receive a positive result in December.

Among them, IMOCO4.E mainly studies digital twins, which is a hot AI project with broad prospects and has attracted the participation of many national enterprises and institutions, including Netherlands, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Latvia, Greece, France, Germany, Portugal, Ireland, Belgium, Finland, etc. And also have a number of large industrial giants such as Sioux CCM, Philips, Nexperia, Siemens, JnJ, Edilasio, GMV, Gefran, Fagor. As well as scientific research institutions, like TU/e, Tyndall, Tno, EDI, UWB, BUT, Unimore, Unibs, Tekniker, Ideko.

On the other hand, StorAlge has 42 members in 8 countries, including 10 large industrial giants, such as The University of Zurich, CSEM, with a total of 25 million euros.

On 6th February 2020, the SwissCognitive Tank was hosted by ETH/RETHINK, with the theme of “Closing the AI Knowledge Gap”.

On January 29, 2020, a CEO of Reexen, Dr. Hongjie Liu and our machine learning researcher, Ilya Kiselev, attended the annual AMLD2020 (Applied Machine Learning Days) conference hosted at the SwissTech Convention Center in Lausanne, Switzerland. 

 

Dr. Liu pitched Reexen’s strategy on developing new products for AIoT and wearable devices to potential customers and investors, which was well received. We also presented our poster about our Edge AI project (Ultra High Efficiency Mixed Signal Processors) at our booth. After the pitch, audiences gathered around our booth to talk about our project. Reexen’s core competence is high-performance and power efficient AI acceleration. We provided an overall solution consisting of hardware platforms and software algorithms. Bringing intelligence to the edge is essential for reducing system costs and boosting efficiency.

 

It was a wonderful and productive event. The workshops and conferences were insightful, inspiring and instructive. We broadened our horizons and exchanged with attendees from various professional backgrounds and geographical area.

Like every year, the World Ecomomic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, is a huge event attended by global leaders in all sectors of society. This year, Dr. Hongjie Liu, CEO of Reexen Techonologies, was invited as a one of the keynote speakers and had the honor to present our vision of leading edge Lot/AI technologies. Reexen presents an extremely efficient AI processor specifically designed for supporting DNN-based edge applications.

NeurIPS 2019 in Vancouver

We are looking forward to go to NeurIPS in Vancouver! Our lead deep learning researcher will present his work at a NeurIPS workshop, which has also ensured one of the much demanded conference tickets. The work was done with collaborators from the Yann LeCun Centre of Data Science at the New York University. It presents a way to improve data efficiency when simulation chains are used for training. This novel method has already been used for physical sciences. At Reexen we look to apply this novel method to design better surrogate simulation models. These models can be used for fast simulations to complement existing resource intensive hardware simulations.

The conference gives great opportunities to exchange ideas in all AI fields, network with top researches and ensures we keep up to date with the latest developments. The energy efficient machine learning workshop at NeurIPS will be one of this year’s high-lights in our AI community.
